Directed by Christopher Nolan, Inception is a mind-bending sci-fi thriller that explores the concept of dreams within dreams. The film follows Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio), a highly skilled thief who specializes in “extraction”—stealing secrets from deep within a person’s subconscious while they dream. Cobb is offered a chance at redemption when a wealthy businessman, Saito (Ken Watanabe), hires him for a near-impossible task: Inception, planting an idea in someone’s mind instead of extracting it.

The target of Cobb’s mission is Robert Fischer (Cillian Murphy), heir to a powerful energy conglomerate. Saito wants Cobb to convince Fischer to dissolve his father’s empire by planting the idea that it’s his own decision. To achieve this, Cobb assembles a team of specialists: Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), his trusted partner; Ariadne (Elliot Page), a gifted architect who designs the dream landscapes; Eames (Tom Hardy), a forger who can impersonate others in the dream world; and Yusuf (Dileep Rao), a chemist who provides the sedatives needed to keep the dream stable.
As they venture through multiple layers of dreams, time behaves differently in each one—minutes in the real world can stretch into hours in the dreamscape. The team must carefully navigate this multi-layered world while avoiding projection of Fischer’s subconscious defense mechanisms. As Cobb and his team dive deeper into the dream levels, the stakes rise, and reality begins to blur.
